Snowy Egret
Yesterday at the tidepools we watched this beautiful Snowy Egret fishing. He was very good at catching fish. We saw him consume at least 6 fish.
They have a unique way of getting the fish to come out in the open. They almost look like they are dancing. When they scout a pool they move around quickly looking at the bottom. Once they see fish they begin shaking a leg while moving the foot along the bottom. This causes the fish to move away from the disturbance and into the sight of the Snowy Egret. Once in sight they generally seem to end up as dinner.
