Heermann's Gull

We have many species of Sea Gulls here. The prettiest being the Heermann's Gull. When they are adults they have unique markings making them easy to identify among the other sea gulls. They have a white head, gray wings and a bright red beak. They breed on islands of the west coast of Mexico and then migrate up the Pacific Coast to Southern British Columbia. Mexico has made some of the popular breeding islands bird sanctuaries to prevent humans from disturbing the breeding process of the gulls. They are aggressive toward other marine birds and often steal food from them.
