Black Oystercatcher

This morning I came across this lone Black Oystercatcher hunting in the mussel beds. Its feathers provided perfect camouflage as it dashed about. But you can’t miss the bright red bill. He was busy poking in and around the mussels for food. This is one of the few times I have seen one of these birds. They are very entertaining to watch hunt.
